The Mill Canyon Trail is located near Tibble Fork Reservoir at the upper end of American Fork Canyon.
Once hikers arrive at Tibble Fork Reservoir, they can park their car in that parking lot and will continue on foot on the dirt road north of the parking lot. After walking about a half mile down the dirt road, hikers will find the trailhead of the Mill Canyon Trail (no. 40). You will cross a bridge and then begin the hike along American Fork River.
The hike winds along the river for a little ways before beginning up the mountain. The hike is moderately difficult because the trail gets quite steep in places and it is a steady incline for the entire hike. Hikers can go one mile up the trail to Mud Springs or they can continue up 2 miles to Holman-Cabin Flat. The hike to Holman-Cabit Flat takes about 2 hours round trip.
The Mill Canyon Trail offers a beautiful winding pathway through the trees. However, if hikers go before June, they should plan on the trails being muddy and still covered in snow in some areas.
The trail is open to hikers, horse back riders and mountain biking.
